WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH THIS?

What’s Love Got To Do With This?

“The Great Valentine’s Day Myth” posted Feb 9, 2015 on dragthepen.wordpress.com expressed my idea that V-Day is for suckers due to despairing and frantic lovers hoping  that cupids  arrow will pierce the hearts of their mates and inspire a marriage proposal or help to rekindle the lack of romance in their dead relationships.  Because of that blog post and the comments, “The Great Valentine’s Day Myth” revived a creative voice that had been silent for years.

Fast forward ten months later; my blog  has 953 viewers and counting. I have a video on You Tube “What to do about Haters,” published an academic paper and created my first portfolio. I have completed my memoir “The Waiting Game,” a reminisce about my past relationships, due date mid-march 2016, on amazon.com. Talk about having your cake and eating it to, I am scheduled to appear on the Tate Show filmed in California for a reading from my book, and I am looking forward to my interview on Books and Banter. All of this happened while I kept my feet on the ground and stayed faithful to my one true love teaching.

So what’s next? Glad you asked. Moving forward and launching into the deep, meaning, hiring a graphic designer and going public with my blog.  In 2016, my blog posting will focus on the theme of each month starting with Black History month in Feb, Women’s History month in March and so on until I have completed the year.

I am thankful for all the people who supported me through all my many writing projects. One of my strongest supporters once said to me “I should never wait for people to give me opportunity I must create my own,” Well lauriana as you can see I did.

Carpe Diem

Happy New Year
