The sad state of relationships

Dear Readers, I have noticed a trend in relationships that people are using manipulation, dictating rules, and feel the need to control their partner. Relationships have become ownership instead of a partnership. Relationship have become a dumping ground for broken people. what happened to love, honor respect, compassion  and commitment.

What Trendy in Relationships

Dear Readers,

I am speaking to you today about the state of relationships. I have observed a trend in relationships where one partner feels that it is his or her right to manipulate, control and dictate the way the relationship will be conducted. Whatever happened to the P in partnership. Relationships are now becoming ownership’s. I see broken people engaging in relationship after relationship in order to have a place to dump their anger and  resentment due to negative experiences in other relationships. To the people who have held on and worked through and establish a foundation for a long-term happy union, Hooray! For the people who are walking around like zombies numb to the pain that they are causing their partner due to unresolved personal issues I say seek help. The world is filled with too many broken relationships. Lets start a conversation towards healing.

The Legend of the Forget-me-not

Forget -me not, the lover’s flower, means ” I love you truly-do not forget me.” The legend behind this bright blue flower’s name is a delight, if sad, tale:

A knight in armor and his lady were walking by a river when the lady  spied some pretty blue flowers growing by the  water. She admired them, and the knight went to pick them for her. Alas, his armor unbalanced him, and he tumbled into the water, still clutching the flowers. As he went under for the third and last time, he threw the flowers to his love, crying ” forget-me-not…”

( The legend doesn’t say what happened to the lady. We may hope that she stayed true to his wish)
