Dear readers,

Don’t live your life singing the” When” song.  Most people think  they that need certain conditions in their life to be happy. Although, in some cases this may be true, but putting off certain goals that we have control over only leads to time wasted and regrets. Don’t be one of those people who say things like, when I acquire an education I will be happy. When I earn more money then I can travel and see the world. When I move into a better house then I can enjoy myself. When I lose the weight then I will look better. When my children grow up then I can concentrate on my life. When I save up a certain amount of money then I will feel secure. When I have time I will start or finish that project. When….When…. the time to live life is now. Each day we should experience something new, and  most importantly, make time for the people in our life who truly matter. The time is now….. When may never come.

Secrets

Dear readers,

Psssst, can you keep a secret? No, this is not a trick question. I think that there are two sides to keeping secrets. First, if you must ask the person you’re about to confess the crimes that you have committed against humanity; if she or he will be able to keep in confidence the information that is burning a hole in your soul, I say to the secret keeper should be cautious as to why the secret teller; is setting up the secrets holder to withhold knowledge about something or someone this could be an unfortunate situation to be in.

Say for an example, an uncle knew that his married nephew had committed adultery, thus destroying the good relationship the uncle had with the wife. The uncle felt it wasn’t his place to divulge this information. In the meantime, he felt that he was betraying the wife, and this caused friction between him and the nephew. In the end the nephew confessed to the wife, she discovered that the uncle knew of the affair, but she never approached him. They have since patched up their marriage. But the relationship between them have changed and the uncle hasn’t visited their home in five years.

Have you noticed that many motivational speakers use the word “secret” and for a price they will tell us the secrets to happiness, wealth, and how to attract a mate, there was a book many years ago called “The Secret” the book claimed that the secret to the law of attraction was simply to alter our thought pattern and the world will change.

Husbands and wives keep secrets from each other. Generations of families live with one dark secrets that only a few dares to whisper. Children learn at an early age how to hide the truth. When an individual testifies in a court of law they are asked to place their hands on a bible, and swear to tell the truth, meaning after taking the oath they can’t keep secrets.

Ask yourself a question the next time someone ask you to keep a secret, do you really want to carry around the responsibility of someone else’s burden?

Normal isn’t normal anymore

Dear Readers,

 

People are speculating about the reason for the sudden increase of mass shootings, and other acts of terrorism. Some blame religious fanatics others claim random acts of evil. An interesting theory came from a colleague who suggests that we are the cause for these terrible events. He explains that it is our collective thinking and behavior. He also believes that society is void of   basic acts of humanity, in addition, to lacking the ability to connect to simple emotions that binds us to the one true race, the human race. We stand firm in the continued practice of segregation, based on race, gender, and religious beliefs. There are those among us who are committed to the rule of a superior race deeming all others inferior. The greed of corporate America putting profits over people, instituting the practice of ruling their employees by fear, thus instilling anger, bitterness and resentment into the minds of those who are just trying to make ends meet. Genuine love and living by the motto “I am my Brother’s Keeper” is a long forgotten value. This country has given into foul play each time a particular group of people screams injustice. We live in a society where Reality TV is the norm, the conversation of the day is what happened on the show Empire, while this generation runs rampaged exploring sexuality to the tenth level; not to mention that teaching morals, ethics and good values is no longer on Americas’ agenda. We are spinning out of control, and to make matters worse, our world and religious leaders are still playing the game of separation of church and state. Therefore, these incidents will continue to happen until we decide collectively to think about the good of the one true race, the human race.
