I’m just saying

Dear Readers,

I don’t understand living in a society that is complacent about women and little girls being raped, molested, forced into marriage, and child brides, encouraging women to remain in abusive relationships, being side chicks, sex workers, baby mother’s instead of honorable wives. Why are we placing more value on men, yet, we disgrace the women who risk their lives to give birth to men.

The downside of being a Man

Dear Readers,

Recently, I blogged about how women, partially black women who are Fed Up with lackadaisical black men.Today’s post is decicated to men who feel that they don’t have parts of them that are broken; and their need to live in denial instead of addressing what is truly nagging at them. Its easy for men to lay blame and point the finger at women for the complications they suffer. Men rely on the theory of Orginal Sin. Remember Eve, Adams wife in the garden of paradise, as the story goes she lead her man astray by convincing him to take a bite from the forbidden fruit. Nice try, but no one is buying into this lame excuse to use women as scapegoats. The truth is men have experienced tragic lost, childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, and some witnessed the abuse of their mothers, were molested, and beaten by their father’s who told them they had to be a man.
Men are under pressure to be leaders, masculine, brave, and to disconnect from their emotional needs so that they wouldn’t appear to be weak. Men have been taught to be predators, aggressive, bread winners, players, and heroes. At a young age, little boys are taught to be tuff, first lesson don’t cry, second lesson be aggressive, third lesson learn how to fight, thus this is how little boys mature into angry adults. Men are told what to feel, and how to think like a man in some cases young boys are put in charge of being the man of the house a role he knows nothing about.
Men are taught that they have to take what they want, and to keep his women in check, that he is the head of the family and his authority should not be challenged. Some men are forced into marriages due to cultural beliefs; others because of knocking someone daughter up. And there are the momma’s boy’s, their mother’s treat them like surrogate husbands, keeping them at home and discourage any women she feels isn’t good enough for her son.
Men are getting married and they are on the DL. Men are allowed to have a wife and a side chick running between two homes, trying to be a man in one, and a player in the other. Bottom line men will never admit that they are oppressed by society’s standards on what it means to be a man. For centuries men have suppressed their anger, and deny that they are emotionally broken leading them to develop dysfunctional behaviors. Its because of these reasons and more that some men find it difficult to successfully engage in a one -on- one intimate relationship. And to conceal what is broken about them they shift the burden on women citing that we are difficult, too emotional, nags, too independent, angry, and selfish.
I would like to say to men I am a mother of a wonderful son who have developed into an amazing father, and dedicated husband. He wears many hats, a Solider, football coach, church musician, and he is an excellent cook. Over the years my son has opened up to me about experiences that have caused him pain, and I am happy about the positive path he has choose  to help heal his brokenness.
The world is not the enemy its just the ridiculous standards that society has heaped upon each gender placing them at a disadvantage. We are not allowed to be our true selves, instead we are told who we need to be.

What say you?

My Amazing son who taught me how to be a better mother and about power of unconditional forgiveness.

Dear Readers,

People are saying that they are looking for love, I didn’t know that love was lost. Did you? What kinda love are people looking for, emotional love, puppy love, love at first sight, dysfunctional love, or unconditional love. Where is love hiding? Is it in the closet, under the bed, in the attic or has love been misplaced? Who are people seeking love from? Love of a parent, sibling, friend, partner, child, God, or a pet. How do we define this love people are yearning for, and will they recognize this love if they find it? On the flip side, I hear people say that there is no love in this world. People are of the opinion that we live in a society that ranks acceptance of others based on the haves and have-nots. In other words, people will love you based on the price tag of the material items you give them instead of accepting old fashioned virtues like honesty, respect, values, good morals, family values, monogamy, and a belief in marriage and partnership. Nowadays, people are seeking to engage in a situation- ship they do so with a closed heart, because a situation-ship is a temporary state the theory is that being in a long term partnership is considered a situation that is outdated. Recently, I was made aware of the new roles women play in a man’s life. If she is deemed the lucky she gets to be the wife, then comes the boo who wants to be the wife, followed by the main side piece, ending with just plain old side chick. During the process of this one man running around with three outside women while trying to keep the home life happy he is labeled community property by the women who is sharing him. Where is the LOVE? The love that our grandparents and parents had, that pure untainted love that endured the test of hardships, the love that made them hold onto each other as if life itself depended on it.
The love that forgave minor offenses. The love that didn’t diminish due to separation. The love that remained long after a spouse has departed. People are seeking what’s missing from their lives. Someone they can bond with on a level of complete honesty and openness, someone with sincere and pure intentions, and a person who keeps his or her word. A dependable person who seeks the greater good of happiness for the pure pleasure of seeing the joy in their partners eyes. A true friend and confidant.Someone who will keep their secrets, laugh at their jokes, won’t judge them for their dreams, shield tears with them behind closed doors, endure their faults, a strong shoulder to lean on, and someone who believes in them. This is what most people are seeking. Love is deep and it takes time to develop a sincere connection and lasting bond. Love isn’t instant gratification or a band aid solution. Love can be expressed in many different ways. When People say they are looking for love. I say, look around love is everywhere.

Baby you’re bumming me Out!

Dear readers,

People say that the number one reason relationships end is because couples , out grow each other, or grow apart. Honestly, what does growing apart mean? Didn’t he or she realize that marrying or cohabiting with a coach potato that overtime your partner would remain a coach potato. One spouse has achieved a higher level of education or ambition, resulting in he or she earning a six figure income; and the other spouse is still doing what?

He is a home body, she is a social butterfly. The vegan trying to coexist with a carnivore, high sex drive, sorry, not tonight, I have a headache. she is into physical fitness, him, ” whats wrong with my pot belly?”  Wrinkles, snoring, grey hair, no hair, sagging breast and lumpy thighs. We communicate less, and less; forgetting birthdays and anniversaries. Arriving home later, and later, if he or she comes home at all, and sleeps in the guest room. This goes on and on until someone yells, UNCLE!
